ARABIC AND HEBRAIC CALLIGRAPHY

The most traditional tool is the reed or calamus. It must be cut oblique left for arabic script except the style called maghrebi, square cut for Hebraic (therefore Parallel Pens also suit)

All kinds are suitable but the best result will come with permanent fluids as Arabic and Hebraic letters strokes are on the minute side

Papyrus, parchment and paper if sized or coated: all non absorbent and laminated surfaces are suitable. We offer the best lamb and veal skins as well as authentic Nile papyrus (where ordinary traders sell only banana's).
